1. For M.Ed. Degree Programmes
Graduates of this University or any other recognized University with appropriate Bachelor’s Degree and at least a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) provided they satisfy Senate by passing a qualifying examination administered by the University.

2. For B.A. (Ed.), B. Sc. (Ed.) and B.Ed. Programmes

Direct Entry: NCE in Mathematics and Physics, A/L (GCE/IJMB) in Mathematics & Physics
O/L Subjects: Candidates with NCE must have five ‘O’ Level Credit passes in GCE/SSCE/NECO/TC II/ Equivalent including English Language, Physics & Mathematics. A/L Candidates must also have five ‘O’ Level Credit passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics & Physics

Special Education; ND in A-V Technology; Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering, Fine/Applied Arts and Computer Education with specialization in Educational Technology. Two A/L or equivalent passes in Mathematics & Physics
O/L Subjects: Candidates with NCE must have five ‘O’ Level Credit passes including Mathematics & English Language. A/L or equivalent Candidates must have five ‘O’ Level Credit passes in English Language, Physics and Mathematics and any two other subjects from Agric. Science, Fine Art, Sciences, Vocational/Technical subjects

B.Sc.(Ed.) Health Education
Direct Entry:
  • NCE in Physical & Health Education, Home Economics, Science Education and Integrated Science.
  • Two A/L Passes to include Biology.
  • Any accredited Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery, Health Management, Social Work, Health Technology and Health Administration, Environmental Health, Health Records/Health Information Management and other Diplomas in Health related fields.
O/L Subjects: Candidates with NCE must have five ‘O’ Level Credit passes to include English Language & one ‘O’ Level Science subject. A/L /Diploma Candidates must have five ‘O’ Level Credit passes to include English Language, one Science & any other three relevant subjects.

Degree: B.Sc.(Ed.) Human Kinetics
Direct Entry: (a)NCE in Physical & Health Education/Agricultural Science/Science Education. (b)Two A/L or equivalent passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Government and CRK/IRS. (c) Diploma in Sports Administration of the NIS. (d)Diploma in Computer Science, Social Work/ Accounting/Data Processing/ Money & Banking/Administrative Management/ Mass Communication/Law/Integrated Science. Diploma in Geography and/or Tourism.
O/L Subjects: Candidates with NCE must have five ‘O’ Level Credit passes to include English Language. A/L Candidates must have five ‘O’ Level Credit passes to include English Language, one Science and any other three subjects.

3. For the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) Programmes

A Bachelor’s degree of any recognized University is required. Higher National Diploma holders of recognized Polytechnics who obtain at least an Upper Credit classification in Higher National Diploma Certificate are also qualified.

4. For Sub-Degree Diploma Programmes

  • Arabic Education
  • Human Kinetics & Health Education
At least 5 Credit passes at SSCE/GCE/NECO/NBTE or equivalents, including English Language, at not more than two sittings.
